Volunteer
WELCOME
Welcome to St. Luke Community Clinic! We are very pleased that you would consider joining us as a volunteer. This is an opportunity for you to offer help to your community. We provide medical and prescription drug care for the uninsured population of Warren County.
St. Luke is a well-equipped medical care facility, staffed by a full time Executive Director, two part-time Nurses ( 10 hours per week each), one full time Pharmacy coordinator/Office Manager, 21 volunteer Physicians, 14 other volunteer health care professionals, and 108 Clerical Volunteers. In addition, the Front Royal Family Practice Residency Program provides Residents to the clinic. Shenandoah University and Page County Technical Center send Nursing students on an assigned basis to learn Clinic operations and assist with patient assessments. As of January, 2003 we have added a full time Nurse Practitioner.
We provide two types of services, funded by the Virginia Health Care Foundation and Anthem. Day services with our Nurse practioners and our Thursday evening with our Volunteer providers. For our Thursday evening clinic doors open at 5:00 p.m. The patients are then screened for eligibility and the enrollment process begins. If the client is eligible, the next step is having a nurse check all the vital signs. The last step is seeing a doctor. Our chronic patients are seen during the day. We also offer a Everywomen's Life Clinic.
Your time is valuable and we pledge not to waste a moment needlessly. The volunteer handbook is designed to provide you with valuable information to ensure that your volunteer experience you have is a successful one. If at any time during your volunteer experience you have any concerns, you may contact either the Volunteer Coordinator or the Executive Director.
Orientation and traning for your volunteer postion may be completed in a group setting or on a one-on-one basis. during this orientaion you will be come more familiar with the layout of the clinic, eligibility requirements for patients, office procedures, and clinic policies.
As you can see, there are many areas that your help is needed. Thank you so much for caring about your community and your clinic!
